friendly staffgood menusbeautiful grounds
we had a lovely evening. the staff were really friendly and helpful. there are two really good menus. patel was great and went over and above (making our dinner special). we will definitely visit again and explore more of the beautiful grounds. the pool is great too for a rainy day!

Amazing Weekend Getaway

Room 57 had super views and a spacious layout. It included a comfortable seating area and a large king size bed with good pillows. The bathroom was well appointed, included toiletries and good size towels.
The changing rooms near the spa pool seemed a little tired.

the staff were friendly (especially in the bar).
the bedroom was disappointing. there was black mould around the windows, quite concerning. i understand it is a very old building, but the room's condition didn't feel up to a 5-star standard.

i stayed in the valley castle room. it had a superb view of the countryside. the hotel service was very attentive. parking was available on site.
the pool is not too warm. the pool is open to kids between certain hours. i could not have a relaxing spa experience because of the noise.

The staff seemed undertrained, and this affected the quality of service during meals. Drinks arrived late one morning and the brasserie lacked refinement. I also found the staff unresponsive to requests.
